Morning host Jim Mackey is gone from Federated Media Country “B100” 100.7 WBYT Elkhart/South Bend IN after apparently no-showing the station’s Birthday Party concert for his daughter’s wedding.

Monsters And Critics reports that Mackey was fired after he did not appear at the station’s 25th birthday concert and instead was at his daughter’s wedding. A since deleted statement on the station’s social media stated that Mackey was given off Friday and Saturday for the wedding but not for the concert on Sunday and he had only given them two weeks notice ahead of time. A friend of Mackey’s wrote that he offered to show up late to the concert on Sunday, but was instead fired.

Co-host Deb Miles remains in mornings. The duo were recently nominated for a CMA Award for Best Small Market Morning Show. Mackey joined WBYT in October 2016 after previously serving as APD/MD/morning host at Cumulus Media’s “97.3 Nash-FM” WFYR Peoria.
