Educational Media Foundation will purchase Sports 101.9 WQXQ Central City KY from Radio Active Media for $617,000. WQXQ covers the Owensboro market and rimshots Evansville IN filling in coverage holes in the “K-Love” coverage not served by 94.9 WYNG Mount Carmel IL and 95.3 WKVN Corydon IN.
New South Radio is selling Alternative 930 WSFZ/107.1 W296DD Jackson MS to SSR Communications for $84,000. SSR, which owns Conservative Talk 103.9 WYAB Pocahontas MS has been trying for years to increase its stations coverage in Jackson through multiple STA filings and proposing a new C4 FM class. The deal includes an LMA before closing, but no start date is listed in the sale filing.
After the $352,500 February sale of 1010 WTZA Atlanta and the CP for W227DN Norcross GA to RC Media Partners collapsed, K&Z Broadcasting has sold the station to Radio Spice LLC for $300,000. The station has already flipped to the buyer’s South Asian “Radio Punjab” network.
Grants Pass Broadcasting will acquire Silent 94.7 KRRM Rouge River OR from the estate of Shirley Bell for $150,000. KRRM will join a cluster that includes Hot AC 98.3 KLDR Harbeck-Fruitdale and Talk 1270 KAJO Grants Pass/99.7 K259AE Williams.
Xana Oregon sells Classic Hits “100.7 Boss-FM” KPPT-FM Depoe Bay OR to Jeff Montgomery for $170,000. Xana had purchased KPPT-FM and 1230 KCUP Toledo OR last fall for $155,000.
