After fourteen years at Entercom News/Talk “WORD 106.3” WYRD-FM Simpsonville/Greenville SC, Bob McClain will call it a career on December 22.
McClain previously programmed WYRD-FM and served as Operations Manager for Entercom Greenville during his tenure at the station. He has worked in broadcasting for 57 years with stints as a Top 40 DJ at stations such as WMCA New York, WEAM Washington DC, WIBG Philadelphia, KRUX Phoenix, KROY Sacramento, WMPS/WHBQ Memphis and others. He then worked in television as a sportscaster in Atlanta, Charleston and Dallas and meteorologist in Memphis. He returned to radio in 2002 as morning host of Oldies 106.3 WGVC. Following that station’s sale to Entercom in 2006 he would move to WORD, then on 950/1330, before overseeing its move to FM in 2008.
