KOA & KHOW Set New Lineups

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
September 13, 2021

850 KOA Denver 94.1 Broncos Country TonightiHeartMedia is setting new lineups at News/Talk/Sports 850 KOA Denver/94.1 K231BQ Golden/94.1 K231AA Boulder and Conservative Talk 630 KHOW Denver.

Current KHOW morning host Ross Kaminsky will move to KOA from 9am to 12pm replacing Dave Logan. Logan, the play-by-play voice of the Denver Broncos, will move to afternoons from 3-6pm to join incumbent co-host ‘Big Al’ Williams for “The Sports Zoo”. iHeartMedia Denver SVP/Programming JoJo Turnbeaugh, who had been co-hosting afternoons will become a regular guest on the show as well as Broncos analyst Rick Lewis and Broncos players and coaches. KOA will move “Broncos Country Tonight” hosted by Ryan Edwards and Benjamin Allbright from 7-11pm to 6-9pm.

“The Situation with Michael Brown”, which had been airing from 2-4pm on KHOW and 6-7pm on KOA will move to mornings on KHOW from 6-10am. Leland Conway, who formerly hosted at 840 WHAS Louisville KY, and has been serving as a fill-in host at KOA and KHOW, will take over the 2-4pm slot that Brown held.

The new lineups will take effect on Monday, September 20.

iHeartMedia Denver announced today numerous programming enhancements to KOA 850 AM & 94.1 FM, Colorado’s News, Talk and Sports Station, and 630 KHOW, Denver’s Talk Station, effective September 20, 2021.

KOA 850 AM & 94.1 FM:

Beginning September 30, KOA 850 AM & 94.1 FM will welcome “The Ross Kaminsky Show” weekdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and “The KOA Sports Zoo” weekdays from 3-6 p.m.

Kaminsky joined KOA in 2011 as a weekend and fill-in host, and moved to mornings on KHOW in 2016. His entertaining, highly-rated show covers the top news stories of the day, along with interesting guests and listener interaction. Kaminsky has been named “Best Talk News/Talk Show” by the Colorado Broadcasters Association and “Best Radio Talk Show Host” by Westword.

“The KOA Sports Zoo” is hosted by Dave Logan and Alfred “Big Al” Williams. Logan and Williams will be joined by Denver Broncos Color Analyst Rick Lewis, as well as JoJo Turnbeaugh, Broncos players and coaches, and other celebrities. The KOA Sports Zoo cast of characters will provide listeners with exclusive, entertaining Broncos and local sports content, including coverage of the Colorado Rockies and University of Colorado Buffaloes.

New KOA 850 AM and & 94.1 FM programming lineup:

Colorado’s Morning News with April Zesbaugh and Marty Lenz                  5 – 9 a.m.

The Ross Kaminsky Show                                                                                             9  – 12 p.m.

The Mandy Connell Show                                                                                            12 – 3 p.m.

The KOA Sports Zoo                                                                                                        3 – 6 p.m.

Broncos Country Tonight with Ryan Edwards and Benjamin Allbright        6 – 9 p.m.

Coast-to-Coast AM with George Noory                                                                 9  – 3 a.m.

This Morning with Gordon Deal                                                                                 3  – 5 a.m.

KOA 850 AM & 94.1 FM is the exclusive home of The Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and University of Colorado Football and Basketball.

630 KHOW:

Additionally, 630 KHOW, Denver’s Talk Station, will broadcast “The Situation with Michael Brown” weekdays from 6-10 a.m. and “The Leland Conway Show” weekdays from 2-4 p.m.

“The Situation with Michael Brown” is a fan-favorite and described by many as smart, funny and connected. As the Former Under Secretary of Homeland Security and Director of FEMA, Brown provides provocative insight into culture, current events and politics.

Conway has been a regular fill-in host on 850 AM & 94.1 FM KOA and 630 KHOW for a number of years. He has been called a “happy libertarian,” and has an uncanny ability to interview news makers, putting them at ease while cutting to the heart of the issue. Conway’s libertarian principles are clear, but his hot takes are always original.

New 630 KHOW Programming Line-up:

The Situation with Michael Brown            6 – 10 a.m.

Tom Martino: The Troubleshooter           10a.m. – 2 p.m.

The Leland Conway Show                            2 – 4 p.m.

The Dan Caplis Show                                      4 – 6 p.m.

The Joe Pags Show                                          6 – 9.p.m

Our American Stories                                     9 – 11 p.m.

Red Eye Radio                                   11 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Fox News Rundown                                       5 – 6 a.m.

“Both KOA and KHOW have been serving Colorado and the Rocky Mountain West for close to a century,” said Brenda Egger, President for iHeartMedia Denver.  “These enhancements further cement our position as the leading destination for unmatched news, talk and sports programming.”
