Max Media’s River Radio of Southern Illinois has flipped Classic Hits “Magic 95.1” WUEZ Carterville/Marion IL to Variety Hits “95.1 Steve-FM“.

Launching on January 3, the new brand is positioning as “We play whatever” with Corri English serving as imaging voice. The station will continue to feature a local airstaff with Brandon Herman in mornings, Shawna Matthews in middays, and Program Director Paxton Guy in afternoons.

Guy stated, “Instead of playing the same 400 songs over and over…what if we played a music library THREE TIMES bigger than that? Instead of sticking with the same predictable songs from one or two decades…what if we played FIVE decades worth of music, including songs that used to be on the radio, but quite literally got lost in the shuffle? It’s every song Magic used to play…and then some. But in no particular order. We play…whatever.”
