Following the exit of Melissa Forrest earlier this month, Cumulus Media has promoted Justin Schaflander from Vice President of Sales to VP/Market Manager for its Atlanta operations.
Schaflander joined Cumulus Atlanta in January 2024 after spending two years as Director of Sales for Good Karma Brands Los Angeles. He previously spent thirteen years at iHeartMedia Atlanta from 2007-2020 rising from Director of Sports Sales to General Sales Manager, VP/Sales, and then Market President in 2014 and Region President in 2016 adding oversight of 12 markets in Georgia and South Carolina. Schaflander was also Director of Sports Sales for CBS Radio and the Los Angeles Dodgers radio network from 2003-2007.
Schaflander commented, “It’s an honor to step into this role. My focus is clear: drive revenue, serve our partners and listeners well, and lead with urgency. We’ve got the talent, the tools, and the mindset —and there’s real opportunity ahead. Now’s the time to capture it, have some fun, and deliver great results.”
Cumulus President of Operations Dave Milner said, “Justin is a proven leader with deep roots in the Atlanta media landscape and a strong track record of driving results and developing high-performing teams. His passion for the business, strategic mindset, and commitment to our people and brands make him the ideal person to lead Cumulus Atlanta into its next chapter of growth.”
