After four years in mornings at Townsquare Media CHR “92 Moose” WMME Augusta ME, Lizzy Snyder will be departing the morning show to move to morning at sister AC 94.9 WHOM Mount Washington NH/Portland ME.
Snyder will join Jeff Parsons on “‘The 949 HOM Morning Show with Lizzy & Jeff” succeeding the retiring Lori Voornas.
Snyder shared in an introductory post on WHOM’s site that Voornas chose her as her successor, “But you know how life is…..it tapped me gently on the shoulder, handed me a much bigger microphone and said, ‘Hey, kid. You’re up.’ That kind of offer makes you want to jump for joy and poop your pants a little.. no pressure. And come to find out it was Lori who chose me. Here’s why I still can’t believe it. She’s the very woman, the very voice, that made my world feel safer on those rides to school, when I was small, self-conscious, and searching for a place where I belonged. That is what morning show hosts do. That is their superpower. I grew up with Lori and even told my mom, I want to do that. After much thinking and talking with my family, I decided to accept.”
Snyder joined WMME in October 2021 to succeed Renee Nelson following Nelson’s 30 year run at the station. WMME was Snyder’s first position in radio after previously guesting on stations in the Augusta and Portland markets where she said when she was hired that she had quietly been pursuing a career in radio for a long time.
Snyder will continue to be heard on WMME as she will be hosting middays starting in mid-July.
Brand Manager Matt James will continue in mornings with the company seeking a morning show producer and digital content writer.
