Minneapolis Public Schools’ “Jazz 88” KBEM Minneapolis has promoted Johnny Lee Walker to Station Manager.
Walker has been interim Station Manager since Dan Larkin’s departure in May 2024. He joined KBEM in 2020 as a development specialist after previously spending his career in commercial radio. Walker spent over a decade at RP Broadcasting Bemidji MN in sales and on-air roles from 2000 to 2011 and then returned to the market at Hubbard’s cluster from 2017 to 2020 as Sales Manager and afternoon host at Hot AC 95.5 KKZY from 2017-2020. In between he also held a sales role at Cumulus Minneapolis from 2014-17.
