Ahead of the closing of its sale to Vic Michael’s Michael Radio Company, Sunbury Broadcasting is moving AC “100.9 The Valley” WVLY-FM Milton PA online only on Friday, July 25.
The station says it will continue to feature its “Yacht Rock and Big 80’s Weekends, plus the best variety of music in Central PA”. While its claim of being the first streaming station in Central Pennsylvania is pure hyperbole, it does keep the format alive in the market.
Sunbury Broadcasting agreed to sell the WVLY license to Michael Radio Company in April for $410,000. Michael previously purchased 1380 WMLP/94.5 W233CP Milton from Sunbury Broadcasting in 2019, That station simulcasts Backyard Broadcasting of Pennsylvania (owned by Michael’s brother Van) Conservative Talk 1340 WWPA Williamsport. Backyard also owns Classic Rock 103.7 WCXR Lewisburg in the market, which simulcasts 99.3 WZXR South Williamsport.
Sunbury Broadcasting retains CHR “94 KX” WQKX, Classic Rock “Eagle 107” WEGK, and News/Talk 1070 WKOK.
