Acadia Broadcasting has relaunched “Hot Country 103.5” CKHZ-FM Halifax NS as “Country 103.5“.
The station is now positioning as “Where Real Country Lives” with a move to add more golds to the library.
The move comes with a shift to live and local from 6am to 6pm weekdays. Ian Robinson moves from middays to host mornings. Melody Rose, who had been part of the morning show since 2021, will now host middays from 10am to 2pm. Former morning host Jody Tedford, who also previously served as PD/afternoon host at crosstown Country “FX 101.9” CHFX-FM, will host afternoons from 2-6pm.
Program Director John Ongaro said, “Country 103-5 is built to be truly live and local—every break, every day. We’re delivering a refreshed library of hits from then and now, paired with personalities who know Halifax and connect with the audience. This is a country music lover’s playlist through and through.”
Regional Manager Eric Whynot added, “This refresh of our brand not only creates a new, solid, 100% live line up, but we listened to the market and have a product that country music fans spanning decades have a station they will call their own because the music is comfortable, and the talent is live, familiar and local throughout the day.”
