SiriusXM 1990s Alternative “Lithium” (channel 34) is continuing to accumulate current and former KROQ Los Angeles personalities as former “Kevin & Bean” co-host Gene ‘Bean’ Baxter joins the station to host Sundays from 12-6pm Eastern/9am-3pm Pacific.
Bean commented, “I was a Day One subscriber to SiriusXM, and it has been a dream of mine ever since to be a part of the amazing talent lineup here. There are tens of thousands of satellites circling the Earth, but ours is definitely the coolest. What a thrill this is!”
The 2015 NAB Hall of Fame and 2019 National Radio Hall of Fame inductee co-hosted mornings at KROQ with Kevin Ryder from the end of 1989 until he retired in the fall of 2019 to relocate to the UK. He also has worked at KZZP Phoenix, KXXX San Francisco, and multiple stations in Washington DC including WINX, WPGC, WPKX, and at WAVA as ‘Flash Phillips’. He also currently hosts the “A Cup Of Tea And A Chat” podcast with former KROQ co-host Allie MacKay and is heard on multiple UK stations including “Podcast Radio” and “Country Line Radio“.
At Lithium, Bean will join current KROQ midday host Doug ‘Sluggo’ Roberts, former midday host Kat Corbett, and weekend host Mark Hamilton.
