After ten years in afternoons at Trending Media Country “Kix 101.1” KXIA Marshalltown IA, Jonathan Knight exited the station on Friday, June 12.

Knight originally hosted mornings at the station before moving to afternoons in 2019.

Knight shared on Facebook, “Well, I hate to say it, but sometimes “things happen,” and this just happens to be one of them. Gas prices are high. Groceries are high. And apparently, the cost of doing business is too. So, after nearly ten years, Friday, June 12th was my last day on Iowa’s BEST Country, KIX 101.1.”

He continued, “Radio has always been a business, and sometimes difficult decisions have to be made. Unfortunately, this time I was the guy who drew the short straw. Trust me, if there had been a contest for it, I wouldn’t have entered. What I will take with me are the memories. For nearly a decade, you’ve allowed me to be part of your day. Whether you were picking up the kids from school, driving home from work, heading to the grocery store for that one thing you forgot, or simply trying to survive another Iowa construction zone, you invited me along for the ride.”
