Original Report 2/13: 1510 KOAZ Isleta, NM is stunting with a loop of nature sounds and promos for a new format debuting at 12pm on Valentines Day. The station is promoting a unique format mix of Contemporary Jazz, Chill, Latin Guitar, and World Music as “103.7 The Oasis” simulcast on K279BP Albuquerque. A Facebook page for the new station is already active.
KOAZ had previously been simulcasting “K-Mine Country” 980 KMIN Grants, NM as KMYN. 1510 operates with 5kW daytime and 25 watts at night. The translator, which has just completed its upgrade from 10 watts on 91.1 to 250 watts on 103.7. The sites elevation at almost 5000 feet gives the translator coverage of all of greater Albuquerque.

Great Station, Love the music and personalities especially Katie Cole.
The Menu lacks one ingredient that can be vital to the presentation of this musical meal.
We need a bowl of red or green. Local Albuquerque and Santa Fe artists can help direct their fans to your station if they have a reason to. Some, at this point feel left out. How about a red or green hour a couple times a day that would highlight Michael Anthony, Patty Stephens,Zanobia, Son Como Son, Milo Jaramillo, Dianna Huges, Frank Lieto, and many, many other truly great local musicians. A partnership of mutual benefit with Professionals like Maud B. at New Mexico Jazz Workshop would pay huge dividens to all concerned. I see this New Mexico red or green hour being popular and unique enough to be syndicated. I am not a musician, there is nothing for me in this idea except that music does far more for me than it should. Observe how local musicians, like Patty Stephens, can pack the house.
