Cumulus Media has transferred Brian Demay to Cincinnati to program AC “Warm 98” 98.5 WRRM.
DeMay comes from Cumulus’ “Lite Rock 105.1” WWLI Providence RI, where he has programmed the station for the past three years. He has previously programmed in Buffalo, Charlottesville, Dayton, Fredericksburg, and Wilmington DE. In Providence he has also hosted afternoons at WWLI as well as for Westwood One’s AC format.
Demay replaces Greg Dunkin, who apparently has exited the company.
Cumulus Media announces that it has named Brian Demay as Program Director of AC-formatted WRRM-FM/Warm 98 in Cincinnati. Demay joins Cumulus Media-Cincinnati from Cumulus Media-Providence, where he has successfully programmed AC-formatted WWLI-FM/Lite Rock 105 for over three years, leading the station to #1 overall, #1 Adults 25-54, and the highest ratings in WWLI-FM’s history. He was also host of Afternoon Drive on WWLI-FM, and continues as a syndicated Afternoon Personality (Adult Contemporary) for Westwood One.
Prior to WWLI-FM, Demay programmed high performing stations in Wilmington, DE (99.5 FM WJBR), Buffalo, NY (WTSS), and Charlottesville, VA (WUMX-FM). He was also Operations Manager for WBQB/WFVA in Fredericksburg/Greater DC, Cluster Operations Manager for iHeart Media/Clear Channel Radio-Charlottesville, VA, and Operations Manager for WCLR/WZLR/WPTW in Dayton, OH.
Dave Crowl, Regional Vice President and Market Manager, for Cumulus Media-Cincinnati, said: “The Cumulus Cincinnati cluster is pleased to welcome Brian to our team. Brian’s successful track record in the competitive Providence market has made him fully prepared to further build the value of the Warm 98 brand to our listeners, advertisers and the Cincinnati community. We look forward to his contributions.”
Keith Mitchell, Operations Manager, Cumulus Media-Cincinnati, said: “I’m excited for Brian to join our team to begin the next chapter of Warm 98, one of Cincinnati’s legacy stations. Of course, before he starts we’ll be taking him to lunch at Skyline Chili – it’s pretty much the law when you start working in Cincinnati.”
Demay said: “Leading Warm 98 is a dream come true, and I’m excited to be able to come home again and reconnect with friends and family in Ohio. I’m going to miss my talented team in Providence, but I’m happy to leave them at #1, and to continue working with Emily Boldon, Mike McVay, Doug Hamand and the Cumulus Office of Programming. Keith Mitchell, Dave Crowl and the Cumulus Cincinnati team are awesome, and I can’t wait to get started.”
John Sutherland, Vice President/Market Manager, Cumulus Media-Providence said: “Brian has done a tremendous job with Lite Rock 105. We’re beginning the search now for his replacement. They are big shoes to fill.”
