Cumulus Media has agreed to purchase AC “Soft Rock 94.1” WMEZ and “Your Country 102.7” WXBM Pensacola, FL from Pamal Broadcasting for $6.5 Million.
Both stations transmit from in between Pensacola and Mobile, AL and put a city grade signal over both cities which may require Cumulus to have to spin some of their existing properties to stay within ownership limits or make some engineering changes. Cumulus already owns Urban AC “Magic 106.1” WRRX, and the News/Talk pair 1370 WCOA and 100.7 WCOA-FM in Pensacola plus Urban 92.9 WBLX, Urban AC 98.3 WDLT-FM, CHR 104.1 WABD, and the Gospel duo of 900 WGOK and 660 WDLT in Mobile. The two Pamal acquisitions along with 92.9 WBLX, 100.7 WCOA-FM, and 104.1 WABD have city grade signals over both markets.
Pamal plans to focus on its remaining stations in New York and Vermont.
