Cochise Broadcasting is attempting to change a pair of its Arizona stations. Tucson rimshot 103.7 KXZK Vail has applied to shift from 790 watts at 145 meters to 6kw at 25 meters. 95.3 KCDQ Douglas, AZ applies to relocate to Tombstone where it will upgrade from a Class A with 800 watts at 12 meters to a C0 with 100kW at 300 meters.

For almost a decade already a massive shuffle of station allocations had been proposed that would affect stations in Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Washington and Wyoming including the Boise and Salt Lake City markets. While parts of the shuffle have been discarded since, a few more applications have been made to allow the rest of the moves to take place.

The first batch of concurrent applications will see Rich Broadcasting’s Idaho Falls market 98.1 KGTM Rexburg and sister 106.3 KQEZ Shelley swap frequencies. Niether station will change facilities. That will enable Lee Family Broadcasting’s 106.1 KKMV Rupert, ID to upgrade from a C0 to C by increasing from 25 to 60 kW while remaining on its current tower height of 761 meters.

In a second group of concurrent applications, RP Broadcasting’s 103.7 KSKI-FM Sun Valley, ID has applied to move to 94.5 and downgrade from a Class C with 52 kW at 583 meters to a C1 with 2.5kW at 583 meters. Concurrently Lee Family Broadcasting’s Sports “102.9 The Zone” KZNO Jerome/Twin Falls will relocate to 103.1 with its same 100kW at 232 meter facilities. Those moves will enable Peak Broadcasting CHR “103.3 Kiss-FM” KSAS Caldwell/Boise to complete its slide to 103.5 and JLD Media’s 97.5 KPHD Elko, NV to complete its relocation to 102.7 in Melba, ID where it will have full market coverage of Boise.

Unrelated to those moves RP Broadcasting’s 107.5 KYZK Sun Valley has applied for an upgrade from Class A to C1. The station will modify from 100 watts at 661 meters to 2.5kW at 583 meters.

We’ll be back tomorrow with all the recent translator applications.
