Summit Media Broadcasting has flipped its recently acquired AC “92.9 The Breeze” WCWV Summersville, WV to CHR “Nick 92.9“.
Positioned as “All The Hits”, the station describes itself on its website as
Nick’s goal is simple — play All The Hits, without a bunch of useless chatter, bad songs and commercials. Of course, we have to pay the bills every once in a while, but we promise not to do it a whole lot, and for a long time. We think it’s due time that West Virginia have the final piece in its puzzle of awesomeness — a radio station that plays All The Hits.
Summit Media Broadcasting (unrelated to Summit Media that purchased the Cox Media spinoffs in 2013) acquired WCWV from R-S Broadcasting for $1.3 Million in December 2013.
INSTANT INSIGHT: We do wonder how long the Nick branding will last considering Viacom’s Nickelodeon hold a trademark for “Nick Radio” for the streaming station it operates with Clear Channel.
Their biggest mistake was color usage in the logo. If they wanted to tick off Viacom, they went right at it.
