Original Report 2:30pm: A change appears imminent at Bluewater Broadcasting Classic Hip-Hop “Yo 107.1” W296AI/WQKS-HD3 Montgomery.
Bluewater has launched a site for Classic Rock “107.1 The Vault” with a Twitter account describing it as “107.1 The Vault plays the songs you remember from the albums you bought back in the day that everybody else is afraid to play on the radio anymore.”
Sources in Montgomery indicate that W296AI is currently silent and all online assets associated with the “Yo” format have been wiped. The change is timed as well with the addition of the syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show replacing Russ Parr on sister Urban “97.9 Jamz” WJWZ after being dropped by Clear Channel Urban AC “Magic 97.1” WWMG earlier this month.
A shift to Classic Rock will position W296AI against Cumulus’ “95.1 The Fox” WXFX.
