GSB Broadcasting has completed the move-in of Variety Hits “96.5 CTG” WCTG Chincoteague VA into the Salisbury MD market.
Now licensed to West Pocomoke MD, the station is now operating with 3.9kW/100m from a tower in Princess Anne MD where its coverage contour now includes Salisbury. The move of WCTG creates a domino effect in the Virginia portion of the Delmarva Peninsula as co-operated Rhythmic AC “101.5 The Mix” WVES Chincoteague has dropped its format of ten months to simulcast WCTG. That move will enable the “CTG” brand to continue to be heard in its former home market.
The WCTG format was previously heard in the Salisbury area when it simulcasted on 92.5 WICO-FM in 2016/17. That station was sold to The Bridge of Hope and is now Christian AC “The Bridge” WNKZ.
WCTG is owned by Sebago Broadcasting Company and WVES by Jackman Holding Company. Both stations are operated by GSB Broadcasting via Time Brokerage Agreements.
Also of note, the ownership takes control of country WBEY-FM soon. Curious to see if they will keep it as country. They should have tried the hot a/c format of the previous 101.5 on 101.1/94.5. The beach areas could use a hot a/c formatted station.
