After his SportsNight afternoon show came to a quick end after just one month last week, veteran Nashville Sports talker George Plaster is joining Southern Wabash Communications of Middle Tennessee Sports 560 WNSR/95.9 W240CA Nashville and 103.9 WNTC Drakesboro KY for a 2-4pm show.
Plaster will fill the slot currently held by Fox Sports Radio’s Colin Cowherd. The Tennessean reports that Plaster had intended to start a podcast until the WNSR position came about.
Following the exit of Scott ‘Frogman’ Ward as PD/afternoon host of Entercom Country “95,1 K-Frog” KFRG Riverside/92.9 KXFG Menifee CA in June, Anthony Frogatelli is moving back to afternoons from mornings. Frogatelli had swapped positions with Ward to join Kelli Green last December.
After stepping down as Program Director in February to focus on his afternoon show, Sammy Cruise is taking on the Assistant Program Director/Music Director role at Hubbard’s “New Country 103.1” WIRK Indiantown/West Palm Beach under new PD Bruce Logan. Cruise has been with WIRK since 2009 and programmed the station from 2012 until earlier this year.
Longtime Montgomery AL personality John Garrett has moved down to Dothan to program Gulf South Communications Country 95.5 WTVY-FM. Garrett most recently co-hosted mornings at Cumulus CHR “Y102” 101.9 WHHY Montgomery.
