Max Media has announced the addition of Rick Thomas as Vice President of Programming and Operations overseeing Rhythmic AC “Jammin 101.5” KJHM Watkins and Rhythmic CHR “Flo 107.1” KFCO Bennett in the Denver market.
Thomas joins Max Media after departing as Operations Manager for Cox Media Group in Tampa and Program Director of AC “Magic 94.9” WWRM, CHR “Hot 101.5” WPOI, and Soft AC 105.5 WDUV earlier this month. He previously has programmed CHR “92.3 Amp Radio” WBMP New York and Smooth AC “94.7 The Wave” KTWV and Classic Hits “K-Earth 101.1” KRTH Los Angeles for CBS Radio and Rhythmic CHR “Z90” XHTZ and Rhythmic Oldies “Magic 92.5” XHRM Tijuana/San Diego for Broadcast Company of Americas. Thomas has also served as Director of Programming for Ohana Broadcast Group, Pacific Region Brand Manager for Clear Channel and earlier in his career programmed WLUM Milwaukee, KYLD San Francisco, and KSFM Sacramento.
Thomas takes the position briefly held earlier this year by Jowcol ‘Boogie D’ Dolby.

Rick’s 30+ years of industry experience speaks for itself with a proven track record of success in radio programming, leadership management and building winning teams, which will be instrumental in taking the two Max radio station brands to the next level in Denver.
Most recently, Thomas worked as Operations Manager for Cox Media in Tampa where he dominated the market. Rick has also programmed some of the most recognized stations in the country, including K-EARTH and The Wave in Los Angeles, Magic 92.5 in San Diego as well as launching AMP 92.3 in New York City. Rick is widely credited with pioneering the Rhythmic AC format and is one of the most successful Rhythmic CHR programmers in the country.
