Mike Francesa will retire from afternoons at Entercom Sports 660 WFAN/101.9 WFAN-FM New York for a second time in December.
Newsday’s Neil Best tweets that Francesa is expected to continue to have a role on Radio.com, after Entercom purchased his “Mike’s On” app in September and moved its content from the subscription service to its free platform.
Francesa first exited WFAN in December 2017 after a two year long retirement tour. He quickly returned in May 2018 in a shorter 3-6:30pm timeslot in tandem with the launch of the subscription app.
Entercom New York Regional President Susan Larkin released a brief statement stating:
Mike Francesa will continue to be part of WFAN, and soon will have an expanded role on RADIO.COM. While we are still finalizing details, this is an exciting move to bring more of Mike’s iconic sports talk content to fans across broadcast and digital in new, engaging ways wherever and however loyal sports fans want it.
