As first tipped in our Domain Insight last week, Backyard Broadcasting PA launched CHR “Hot 107.9” WOTH Williamsport PA on Wednesday.
The new format replaces Variety Hits “FM 107.9” WLMY and brings the station into direct format competition with iHeartMedia’s “V97” 97.7 WVRT.
The branding resurrects the CHR identity utilized by Vic Michael’s Pro Marketing on “Hot 103.9” and late 93.3 WHTO-FM Williamsport throughout the 1990s. The current Backyard cluster was purchased by Michael’s brother Van last summer for $5.9 million.
