Edison Research has released a teaser for their upcoming Infinite Dial study showing that the mean number of radios in the homes of Americans has dropped in half since 2008.
In the upcoming Infinite Dial 2020, respondents averaged 1.5 radios per home with 32 percent saying they did not have a single radio, 58% saying they own 1-3 radios, and 10% owning four or more. In 2008, the mean was three radios with only four percent then saying they did not own any, 64 percent possessing 1-3, and 32% having four or more.
The full Infinite Dial study will be released on Thursday, March 19 at 1pm. Those interested in watching the presentation can register at this link.
New information from the Infinite Dial 2020® from Edison Research and Triton Digital shows that 68% of all Americans say they have at least one radio in their home. The average home now has 1.5 radios, down from double that number in 2008.
The trend over the last 12 years shows a consistent diminution in the hardware unit – the radio receiver – from American homes. In 2008 only 4% of Americans reported having no radio in their home, as compared to 32% today.
What has replaced these radios? Do those who have no radios instead have smart speakers in their homes? Tune in to The Infinite Dial® webinar for the answer to these questions and many others.
