The deal will also see Florida State football continue to air on Conservative Talk 94.5 WFLF-FM Panama City.
iHeartMedia Tallahassee/Panama City and Florida State University (FSU) — and its multimedia rightsholder, Learfield IMG College — today announced a six-year agreement to be the official broadcast and play-by-play home of the Seminoles, effective immediately.
As part of the six-year agreement, 94.9 WTNT-FM will live broadcast all upcoming football games for the 2020-21 athletics season; FSU men’s basketball games will air exclusively on X101.5 FM; women’s basketball on Throwback 96.5 FM; and men’s baseball on 100.7 WFLA.
Additionally, iHeartMedia stations in Tallahassee and Panama City will provide play-by-play coverage of the games for listeners and will have access to team coaches with pre- and post-game comments on each broadcast and weekly coach’s shows. The ACC unveiled the football schedule for 2020, which will begin September 12 with the Seminoles opening at home with Georgia Tech. The schedules for men’s basketball, women’s basketball and men’s baseball programs have yet to be announced. For more information, listeners can visit www.seminoles.com
“We’re extremely excited to once again be partnering with Learfield IMG College and have the FSU Seminoles return to our iHeart Tallahassee stations,” said Paul Rogers, Market President for iHeartMedia in Tallahassee and Panama City. “With our massive reach and our multiple platforms throughout Florida, we have the ability to promote the FSU athletics program to communities across the state.”
“We’re always looking for powerful and compelling ways to connect with our listeners,” said John Lund, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia in Tallahassee and Panama City. “Tallahassee and our surrounding areas are all about Florida State sports, so it was imperative for us to be able to provide that for our local listeners if we wanted to continue to be the leading media company in our markets.”
