In September Universal Stations sold South Asian “Radio Zindagi” 540 WBWD Islip NY to Eli Madrigal and Roberto Paredes’ Metro Mex USA LLC for $700,000 who immediately flipped it to Spanish Christian via LMA.
A little over two months later, the former format is back as Yash Pandya’s Om Sai Broadcasting has purchased WBWD for $1.3 million. Nearly doubling their money in less than three months, Om Sai began operating WBWD via LMA on December 10 returning the Indian “Radio Zindagi” brand to the station. The 25 year old Pandya just ran for the Board of Education in Edison NJ.
Following the first sale of WBWD, the network had moved to Win Radio Broadcasting’s 740 WNYH Huntington/100.7 W264DG Islip. WNYH has now returned to its prior Korean language Christian programming.
Yash Pandya came up short in his bid for election to the Edison NJ Board of Education. So then he spends nearly double the sale price two months earlier for the same station? Perhaps he shouldn’t be deciding how to use taxpayers money.
