WWSZ also serves as parent signal for Core’s Hip Hop “Streetz 94.5” W233BF Atlanta. As part of the deal JDJ Communications will acquire 94.5 WIPK Calhoun GA for $10.
Krma Media Group sells Classic Country 1490 WYYZ Jasper GA to Jose Steven Lara’s Gorilla Broadcasting for $240,000. Included in the deal is the option to purchase 102.5 W273CT Canton from Radio By Grace, whose remaining payments will be deducted from the sale price. Lara owns Regional Mexican “El Gallo” on 900 WNMB North Myrtle Beach SC and three translators and operates the same brand via LMA on 94.3 WLEL Americus GA and 107.1 KRQN Vinton/Cedar Rapids IA.
After surrendering and then resurrecting their licenses and a failed donation to Saul Levine’s Advanced Public Radio, SummitMedia is now donating 650 KPRP Honolulu and 940 KKNE Waipahu HI to Raleigh Wake Chapter Shaw University National Alumni Association. The deal includes an agreement that the stations will be run “as noncommercial educational stations providing primarily spoken word educational programming, providing a platform for schools to expand access to classroom material and lectures.”
The estate of William O’Shaughnessy’s Hudson-Westchester Radio is donating Talk 1460 WVOX/98.3 W252DX White Plains NY to MMTC Broadcasting. Upon closing, MMTC will sell the licenses to Jeff Chang for an undisclosed amount. The leases for the AM site and studio are not included in the transfer.
Crain Media Group sells Country “Y107” 107.1 KCNY Greenbrier/Conway AR to Bobby Caldwell’s EAB of Morrillton for $1.1 million. Caldwell’s company began operating KCNY via Time Brokerage Agreement on July 31. The deal creates a duo with the buyer’s Variety Hits “92.7 Jack-FM” KCON Vilonia/Conway.
