iHeartMedia’s recently relaunched Rock “97.1 The Eagle” KEGL Dallas will add Premiere Networks’ The Woody Show for mornings starting Monday, July 8.
Until the full launch, the station will air segments from the show throughout the day. The KYSR Los Angeles based morning show will be heard from 5-10am weekdays.
Woody states, “I can’t even begin to tell y’all how excited I am to be joining The Eagle. From the moment ya’ll signed the station back on, I was hoping to get the call from ya’ll. Thanks to y’all at iHeart Dallas: Amy Leimbach, Patrick Davis and Zakk Zaccagnini. We’re ready to rock, y’all.”
iHeartMedia Dallas Region President Amy Leimbach added, “We are excited to announce the addition of ‘The Woody Show’ to mornings on 97.1 The Eagle. Given the success and widespread popularity of ‘The Woody Show,’ we have no doubt that it will strike a chord with our Dallas listeners and play a pivotal role in enhancing the Eagle’s iconic brand.”
KEGL retained the Ben & Skin Show from its previous Hot Talk “97.1 The Freak” incarnation; moving the show from middays to afternoons.

Repeatedly seeing the word “iconic” in radio station press releases is very tiresome.
If the brand is so “iconic,” why was it tossed to the curb last winter?
Dude, I love Woody but I really hope he did not write that press release. Using the word y’all three times just because you’re in Dallas is cringe but it really does seem like radio is doubling down on cheese these days.. at this point I would’ve had more respect for, yay, another market, cool!
