iHeartMedia Hip Hop “103.5 The Beat” WMIB Miami is revamping its on-air lineup as longtime afternoon host ‘Papa Keith’ Walcott moves to a new role as National Brand Partnerships Multicultural Specialist for the company.
Walcott, who has hosted afternoons since 2013, will continue to host Saturday mornings and his “Common Sense PhD.” podcast. He commented, “For more than 30 years, radio has given me the opportunity to connect with the community. As I pass the torch to DJ Entice, someone who represents the energy and passion of 103.5 The Beat, I know afternoons are in great hands. While he takes the show to the next level, I’m excited to begin a new chapter with iHeartMedia, expanding my impact and serving Miami on an even bigger stage.”
Market President Shari Gonzalez said, “Papa Keith has played a pivotal role in shaping the legacy of 103.5 The Beat and its connection to South Florida for decades. His authenticity, community leadership and deep cultural influence have earned the trust of listeners and partners across Miami, and we’re excited to see his impact continue to grow both on and off the air.”
Replacing Wolcott in afternoons will be evening host DJ Entice. Late night host Slim City and Billy Blue will be paired in nights from 6-10pm. “96.1 The Beat” WRDA Atlanta afternoon hosts Ferrari and BT will add late nights from 10pm to 2am. Premiere Networks’ “The Bootleg Kev Show” remains in overnights. The Breakfast Club remains in mornings as does midday host Stichiz.
Gonzalez followed, “This lineup reflects the energy and diversity of South Florida. From DJ Entice’s move to afternoons to the launch of ‘Strictly BS’ and the addition of Ferrari and BT, we’re delivering programming that is locally connected, culturally relevant and built for Miami listeners.”
Program Director Jill Strada added, “Our new lineup reflects both legacy and evolution. This is truly a South Florida lineup with homegrown talent that embodies the energy, culture and spirit of our city.”
