Tessa Barrera has returned to iHeartMedia Houston as afternoon host at AC “Sunny 99.1” KODA.
Barrera was previously part of “The Rod Ryan Show” on Rock/Alternative “94.5 The Buzz” KTBZ-FM from 2019 until the end of 2024. She also co-hosted “Houston Life” on KPRC-TV from July 2023 until this March. Prior to joining KTBZ-FM, Barrera spent four years as a reporter and sportscaster for KRIS/KZTV Corpus Christi and then was a news anchor and producer for iHeart News/Talk 640 KFI Los Angeles.
The arrival of Barrera follows the exit of midday host Amanda Flores and afternoon tracker Chris Davis in last month’s layoffs. Morning host Dana Tyson is now heard from 6-11am with “Star 102.1” KDGE Dallas morning host Leigh Ann Adam following from 11am to 3pm.
