Audacy News/Talk 870 WWL New Orleans/105.3 WWL-FM Kenner LA afternoon co-host Mike Detillier passed away on Sunday at the age of 65.

Detillier was a longtime contributor to the station who began co-hosting “Sports Talk with Bobby Hebert, Mike Detillier and Steve Geller” weekdays from 4-8pm in 2021. While working as an engineer, he began publishing an NFL Draft guide in 1985 and soon became a regular guest on the station.

In a statement released by the station, Detillier noted that he recently learned he had terminal Stage 4 pancreatic cancer and intended to tell the audience on Tuesday, which would have been his 66th birthday. He said, ““While it’s an incredibly emotional time, I want to thank everyone – the listeners, the whole team at WWL radio and Audacy, New Orleans, and all those who put up with me over the years – from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to let me live my passion: The game of football. Hosting SportsTalk with Bobby J, Deuce, Hoss, Steve, and the whole crew – working for WWL has been the honor of a lifetime.”
