Following recent staffing changes, Audacy’s “Star 94” WSTR Smyrna/Atlanta GA used the Labor Day holiday weekend to revert back to a more traditional Hot AC presentation.
The station has added fourteen currents to its playlist in the past week and eliminated all usage of its former “Feel Good Throwbacks” positioning. The revamp at the station follows the recent return of JR Ammons to oversee the station’s programming and the exit of the “Kevin & Taylor” morning show. Ammons previously worked at the station as APD/MD from 1995 to 2006 and Program Director from 2008 to 2011 and currently oversees programming for 98.1 KYKY and 102.5 KEZK St. Louis, 99.7 KZPT and 106.5 WDAF-FM Kansas City, and 96.5 KHMX Houston.
Brian Moote remains in afternoons. WNEW New York afternoon host Mike Adam is currently tracking mornings and KAMX Austin afternoon host Sean Mack is being heard in middays. It is expected that the “Y98” KYKY St. Louis based and internally syndicated Bret Mega Show will relocate to WSTR upon the closing of Audacy’s sale of its St. Louis cluster to Hoffman Media Group.
