Cumulus launched the first Nash Icon branded Country station in Atlanta at 12pm today flipping Classic Hits “Oldies 98.9” W255CJ Atlanta/99.7 WWWQ-HD2 to “98.9 Nash Icon“.
The move gives Cumulus’ “Kicks 101.5” WKHX an older skewing flanker to assist in its format battle against Clear Channel’s “94.9 The Bull” WUBL. The station is differentiating itself as featuring music from the late 80s through today with artists including Alabama, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn, Sara Evans, The Judds, Faith Hill, and Toby Keith.
98.9 is promoting itself as being Commercial Free 24/7.
