Leighton Acquires Ten In Minnesota

Leighton Broadcasting Enterprises Jerry Papenfuss KAGE Fergus Falls WinonaLeighton Enterprises is purchasing ten stations in two Minnesota markets from Jerry Papenfuss for $9.5 million.

The stations are located in the Fergus Falls/Perham, and Winona markets and operate under the KAGE, Inc., and Result Radio, Inc. names. The acquisitions will nearly double Leighton’s current radio holdings which consists of twelve stations in Grand Forks, ND and Detroit Lakes and St. Cloud, MN.

The stations involved in the deal are:

Fergus Falls/Perham: Country “KJ 96.5” KJJK-FM, AC “Lakes 99.5” KPRW, Rock “Z103.3” KZCR Sports “The Game 1020” KJJK, and News/Talk/Farm 1250 KBRF.

Winona: CHR “KG 95.3” KAGE-FM, Country 99.3 KWNO, AC “Soft Rock 101.1” KHME, Conservative Talk 1230 KWNO, and Classic Country “Kage Country 1380” KAGE.
