Star 93.3 WBWZ Poughkeepsie Hudson Valley Rock 933 WPDH WRRV Clear Channel 96.1 Kiss Chris MarinoUpdate 3/14: WBWZ made the switch from Hot AC to Classic Rock “Rock 93.3” at 4:00 this afternoon.

Billed as “The Next Generation of Classic Rock” the station has an 80s base to it which positions it as a slightly younger alternative to Cumulus’ 101.5 WPDH.

The first hour of Rock 93.3 consisted of:

Original Report 2/26: A domain registration war has erupted in the Hudson Valley of New York as Clear Channel prepares to flip Hot AC “Star 93.3” WBWZ to Rock.

Clear Channel registered via MarkMonitor on Wednesday. A move to Rock would place the station in competition with Cumulus’ pair of Rock 101.5 WPDH and Modern Rock 92.7/96.9 WRRV. That has triggered a pair of Cumulus staffers to register 10 similar domains to block.,,,,,,,,,, were registered Friday by Cumulus’ Market Manager Aaron Hyland or Promotions Director Jeremiah Johnsen.

Two other Clear Channel stations in the Hudson Valley could be seeing tweaks as well. With Star gone, Rhythmic CHR “96.1 Kiss-FM” will shift to Mainstream CHR based on the registration of, while Oldies “Cruisin 93.5” WZCR Hudson, NY in between Poughkeepsie and Albany has had registered for a potential rebranding.
