I do afternoon drive time news, "The Road Home", from 3 to 7 pm on Tuesdays. I fill in regularly on Mondays when needed. I identify the station, promote shows, do traffic, public service announcements, weather, and press the buttons. Most of the shows are from computer, or live BBC. Our most popular show is "Democracy Now". Once a month I engineer a live show, "Getting Your Dough To Rise". That is financial advice with host Chuck Noel. The Monday live show is called "Focus on Aging", with hosts Joan Bethel, and Pat Mahoney. Do listen if you get the chance. It is hard to know people are listening.

Yeah, it was a super-flattering article. I even had some people bring the article into the clubs that said "I was a freak too!"

The "Shut Up and Dance" cassette by Paula Abdul was my first music purchase. I think the whole remix concept was very intriguing to me.

Let your freak flag fly!!

Excellent news about C89.5 Seattle being named Best of Seattle.

BTW- I read your bio. In 1988 or 1989 (I was a Freshman or Sophomore), I got my first CD player for Christmas. My first two CD's were Paula Abdul's Forever Your Girl and Madonna's Like a Prayer. They're still two of my favorite albums! Guess I'm a freak too! A proud freak!

When I was in Westport last summer, the only signal I was able to pick up on my MP3 player/FM tuner was 97.7

I don't think KOMO is going to change AM 1000. This is will be a permanent simulcast. Not sure what they identified as trouble with their 50,000watt clear channel signal in the south sound was - though it will give them much better reach west toward the coast and maybe the south side of the Olympics. I noticed the other day that they brought back the locally famous, "From the Olympics to the Cascades...from Vancouver to Vancouver" voice over bit.

Here in Tacoma 97.7 comes in good at my house but if you are in any kind of hole, ie the east side of a hill, from Tacoma north- it's definitely a null signal.

The coast, Aberdeen-Hoquiam-Westport-Ocean Shores area will now be able to hear KOMO nicely day or night...probably a better signal than the metro area itself.

I live in south king county and reception is spotty for 97.7, but the word a while back was that these guys were getting an upgrade thru location change and power for transmitter--do not know if that is still in the works though--KOMO wanted and alternative outlet and more daytime quality coverage south of Seattle, and of course maybe ratings
