Afternoon host Chris Daniel has resigned from Cumulus Media News/Talk 580 KMJ/105.9 KMJ-FM Fresno after a decade at the station.
Daniel previously spent fifteen years at Rock 103.7 KRZR Fresno from 1989-2004 and spent time at “105.9 The Edge” KKDG Fresno and “106.9 Free-FM” KIFR San Francisco before joining KMJ. In a letter to his listeners, Daniel, the son of New York legend ‘Dandy Dan’ Daniel, explains he’s been considering leaving for awhile and wants to explore things outside of radio.
Producer/co-host Philip Teresi will replace Daniel in the 2-6pm slot at KMJ.
Neil Larrimore exits as Program Director of News/Talk 630 WPRO Providence/99.7 WEAN-FM Wakefield-Peacedale and 790 WPRV Providence RI. Larrimore joined the pair in October 2017 after programming iHeartMedia’s Talk and Sports stations in Phoenix and Tucson AZ and Entercom’s 980 KMBZ Kansas City.
Becca Lynn has exited “Cat Country 96” WCTO Easton/Allentown PA after fifteen years in mornings alongside Sam Malone. The company is seeking applications to succeed Lynn here.
Former iHeartMedia Miami SVP/Programming Alex Tear joins SiriusXM/Pandora as Vice President of Music Curation & Programming. In a memo to staffers, Tear’s position was described as “Alex will be responsible for partnering with the programming teams to further build Pandora’s listener base and maximize music assets across both the Pandora and SiriusXM platforms. More specifically, he will work closely with Pandora’s music genre leaders on refining top curated stations and playlists, and further defining strategy and execution of mood and activity programming along with new artist development.” Tear exited iHeartMedia in January after nearly a decade in the Miami market. He has also programmed for Clear Channel Pittsburgh and ABC Radio Detroit.
Ashley King has exited as APD/MD/midday host at iHeartMedia Country “KSSN 96” 95.7 KSSN Little Rock AR after three and a half years to focus on her TV hosting duties at KTHV-TV. King previously spent time in mornings and afternoons at Classic Rock “94.1 The Point” KKPT Little Rock.

Spanish Broadcasting System has promoted Eduardo Maytorena to Local Sales Manager in Los Angeles. He joined SBS last year as Senior Account Executive after serving as Creative Sales Director for Grupo Radio Centro’s 93.9 KXOS and Hoy Newspaper.
Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. (“SBS”) (OTCQX: SBSAA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Eduardo Maytorena as Local Sales Manager of the Los Angeles market, KLAX-FM – 97.9FM La Raza and KXOL-FM Mega 96.3FM.
Mr. Maytorena will lead the Company’s LA-based sales teams across Radio, Digital and Experiential Marketing. In this role, Mr. Maytorena will work closely with clients in the greater Los Angeles area to help them engage our audience and implement effective advertising and sales strategies to meet evolving market trends. Mr. Maytorena is an accomplished executive with 15 years of media experience.
