In 2014, non-comm Triple-A WXPN Philadelphia, a long-time favorite of Ross On Radio readers, counted down the top 885 songs of all time, as well as the 88 worst ones. They’ve also occasionally spotlighted Ross On Radio’s “Lost Factor” calculations on the most “lost” ’70s songs–songs which go beyond good and evil.
This morning (December 10), WXPN kicked off the station’s most ambitious listener-voted countdown so far: 2,020 songs for 2020. Morning host Kristen Kurtis commented that listeners were already speculating on when they would hear the first trainwreck; ‘XPN made a point of providing one with the first segues.
