Plus the return of Fox Sports Radio to Norfolk and a potential lead for Curtis Media's newest Raleigh station. iHeartMedia has registered Jamn933.com for potential use. Outside of an out of left field rebranding of an existing station, two of the company's stations stick out as the likeliest destination for the domain: Classic Hip Hop " The New 93.3 " W277CX/WZZR-HD2 North Palm Beach FL or Classic Rock " Z93 " WBWZ New Paltz/Poughkeepsie NY. In both cases, there are no current based Hip Hop outlets directly serving their markets. W277CX currently has a 0.5 share in the West Palm Beach market, while WBWZ has a 0.7 share in the Poughkeepsie market. A launch would be seemingly tied with the debut of Angela Yee's new national midday show. iHeart currently utilizes the " Jam'n " brand on Rhythmics in Boston , Portland OR , and San Diego . After Sinclair Communications dropped Fox Sports Radio to flip 850 WTAR Norfolk and translators 96.5 W243EK Hampton and 96.5 W243DJ Norfolk to Hot AC " Lucy-FM " at the start of September, Max Media appears ready to bring the brand back to the market as the company has registered FoxSports1310.com for what is currently Business " Money Talk 1310 " WGH Norfolk. The move would give Max Media a foothold on Sports in the market as it also operates " ESPN Radio 94.1 " WVSP. With Curtis Media closing on its purchase of " Country Superstars 102.3 " WKJO Smithfield/Raleigh NC last week and moving it to Christmas music , we can't help but note the timing of the anonymous registrations of 1023LiteFM.com and 1023LightFM.com . A flip to AC would give Curtis the ability to chip away at Capitol Broadcasting's " Mix 101.5 " WRAL-FM, which is currently the highest rated music station in the market with a 7.4 share .
