Saga Communications has announced the launch of two new morning shows in Columbus OH.
Randi Rasar and DJ Rice will team up in mornings on AC “Sunny 95” 94.7 WSNY. Rasar most recently co-hosted mornings at NABCO Rock “99.7 The Blitz” WRKZ from 2012 until exiting in August 2022. She and former co-host Jeremy Loper previously spent four years in mornings at “103.1 The Buzz” WPBZ West Palm Beach where they would be paired together as a morning team and later wed. She began her career at “Wild 98.7” WYIL Knoxville TN and also worked at WXMX Memphis and had an earlier stint at The Blitz before joining Loper at WPBZ in 2008.
She will be paired with Dwayne ‘DJ’ Rice who joins WSNY from Saga Hot AC “Coast 93.1” WMGX Portland ME where he has been Music Director and afternoon host since October 2020. Rice previously had two stints at iHeartMedia New Hampshire as Promotion/Marketing Director and on-air at CHR “Z107” WERZ.
Rice stated, “I can’t wait to wake up Columbus every weekday with my new friend, Randi! Thanks to the entire Columbus team for the opportunity to live my dream.” Rasar added, “We’re gonna shake things up and work to make everyone’s morning brighter! I’m so glad Sunny 95 picked me to liven up your morning commute!”
They succeed Dino Tripodis and Stacy McKay, who were let go last month.
Across the hall at Hot AC “Mix 107.9” WVMX, Gordon ‘Gordo’ Hultengren takes the morning slot that had most recently been held by Andre Styles. Hultengren joins WVMX after a year in mornings at CHR “U93” WNDV-FM South Bend IN. He previously has served as morning co-host/producer at “Big 98.7” KLTA Fargo ND and spent four years as morning show producer for Carla Marie & Anthony and Bender & Molly at KBKS Seattle.
