Whiteoaks Communications closed on its purchase of four stations in Southern Ontario from Bell Media relaunching two of them with new brands today.
Variety Hits “Bounce 102.9” CKLH-FM Hamilton relaunched as “Legend 102.9” retaining the same format. Morning hosts Sunni Genesco and Matt Hayes continue in place as does afternoon host Darrin Laidman. Longtime Toronto personality and voiceover artist Taylor Kaye joins the station as midday host. The company describes the new brand as “delivering an iconic mix of songs that have stood the test of time”.
AC “Move 105.7” CHRE-FM St. Catharines takes on new branding as “Dream 105.7“. Positioning as “Refresh the Hits”, the new brand continues to feature Curtis Bray and Melani West in mornings and Aiko Iwashita in afternoons. Former “Kiss 92.5” CKIS-FM Toronto midday host Kayla P joins as Music Director and midday host.
No brand changes took place at Rock “97.7 HTZ-FM” CHTZ-FM or News/Talk 610 CKTB St. Catharines. CKTB has added a new local talk show from 9am to 12pm hosted by former Toronto personality Gene Valaitis.
