With Radio One about to imminently close of its acquisition of Hip Hop “K104” KKDA-FM Dallas and “Smooth R&B 105.7” KRNB Decatur TX, staff cuts have taken place at the stations.
KRNB APD/MD and afternoon host Keith Solis hosted his final show at the station on Thursday, July 16 ending a nineteen year run at the station which also included time as local newscaster for the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Solis began his career at 107.5 KNOK at the age of fourteen and later worked at Hip Hop “100.3 Jamz” KJMZ and successor R&B “V100” KRBV as well as Smooth Jazz “107.5 The Oasis” KOAI in the market along with WVEE Atlanta and ABC Radio Networks and Salem Radio Networks.
Solis shared, “After 19 years, today is my last day at Smooth R&B 105.7, as you may have heard our radio station along with our sister station K104 was sold to another company which elected not to retain me and many others. While I am disappointed, I am also extremely grateful that God has given me a 43-year career, which included opportunities and experiences that many could only dream of. I’m thankful for all of those who have been praying for me throughout this process and even though God may not have answered in the way we were hoping, He is forever faithful and always provides more than we could ever imagine! So, I’m looking forward to walking through the next door that only He can open….”
Also announcing his departure was cluster promotions specialist Ossie Boddie after a fifteen year run. He posted, “I’m thankful for the past 15 years and getting to work for the station that I grew up listening to. I got to work with radio legends and people that I consider family. I was able to work for one of the most legendary stations in radio. I regret nothing. At the end of the day it’s radio and we willingly want this this job!”
