After exiting Cumulus Media Classic Rock “97 LAV” WLAV Grand Rapids at the end of August, Michelle McCormick is joining iHeartMedia to host mornings on Classic Hits “101.3 Big-FM” WBFX Grand Rapids and Classic Rock “Rock 101.7” WMRR Muskegon Heights.

McKormick will debut on Monday, October 19. She has spent the majority of her career in her native Grand Rapids since starting her career in 1984 and had been part of the morning show at WLAV since 2011. She has also spent time at the market at stations including 97.9 WGRD, 1300 WOOD, and 1340 WJRW along with five years at Hot Talk “FM Talk 97.1” WKRK-FM Detroit and time at “New Jersey 101.5” WKXW Trenton NJ.

She commented, “I’m so excited to be back on the air in my hometown and to join the iHeartMedia team. West Michigan listeners have been incredible to me for decades, and I can’t wait to wake them up again every morning on Big 101.3 and WMRR. This feels like the right next chapter.” Big 101.3 serves Grand Rapids with classic hits and “Fun Hits You Know,” while WMRR-FM delivers classic rock to the Muskegon market.

iHeartMedia Grand Rapids/Muskegon/Milwaukee/Madison Regional President Tim Feagan commented, “Michelle is one of the most recognizable and beloved voices in West Michigan radio. Her authenticity, passion for the community, and ability to connect with listeners every morning made her a natural fit for Big 101.3 and WMRR. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the team.”
