The hacking of 92.5 WREE has come to an end as the station expectedly relaunched as 80s centric Classic Hits “Rewind 92.5“. Debuting with Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy”, WREE is positioning itself as “Amazing Variety”.

Occasional songs are being interrupted by faux hackers claiming they are coming, they can control your radio, etc. An updated website states a list of demands giving the station until Thursday, February 26 at 9:00am to meet them. As we mentioned below Saga recently changed the station’s call letters from WCFF to WREE and a relaunch under “Rewind” branding appears imminent.
Original Report 2/4: A change appears to be coming to Saga Variety Hits “92.5 The Chief” WCFF Urbana/Champaign, IL.
WCFF has changed call letters to WREE and a rebranding to “Rewind 92.5” will likely follow. Rewind925.com was anonymously registered back in December. Saga currently runs “Rewind” branded Classic Hits stations in Columbus, Clarksville, Ithaca, and Portland.
