Former Urban “Kiss 101.7” WJKS Wilmington DE owner Tony Quartarone is returning to radio as his Multimedia Communications is purchasing “CBS Sports 105.3” WJSJ Fernandina Beach/Jacksonville FL from Neal Ardman’s NIA Broadcasting for $1.3 million. Multimedia, held by Quartarone and a group of Delaware based parters, has until August 1 to raise the financing for the purchase.
The Affiliated Media Trust, spinning off the properties formerly held by the bankrupt Graham Newspapers sells a four station cluster located halfway between Abilene and Dallas TX to the James Moser led Palo Pinto Communications for $95,400. The buyer will also be purchasing seven of Graham’s newspapers for an undisclosed amount. The stations involved in the deal are Country “K-Lakes 93.5” KLXK Breckenridge, Classic Rock “Q94.7” KWKQ Graham, Classic Country 1330 KSWA Graham, and AC 1430 KROO Breckenridge.
Alton Tipps acquires Full Service 1340 WCDT/106.9 W295AV Winchester TN from Betty Yarborough’s Franklin County Radio & Broadcasting for $331,150.
