iHeartMedia flipped Rock “Rock 96.3” K242CE Meraux/99.5 WRNO-HD2 New Orleans LA to Classic Hip-Hop “Throwback 96.3” today.
The new format flanks sister Urban AC 98.5 WYLD-FM and Urban “Q93” WQUE which currently hold the top two spots in the market. With rumors of Entercom preparing to make a format change of their own in the market, it appears this change like that done by iHeart in Tampa last month was to potentially fill the hole they think would hurt their top two stations.
The Rock format registered a 0.7 share in the Fall 2016 Nielsen Audio ratings.
