Virden Broadcasting is acquiring Withers Broadcasting’s three stations in Sterling IL for $400,000. Virden began operating AC “Q94” 94.3 WSSQ Sterling, Classic Rock 102.7 WZZT Morrison, and News/Talk 1240 WSDR Sterling via Time Brokerage Agreement on April 1.
Broadcast Communications is acquiring Classic Hits “Music Power 104” 103.9 WLSW Scottdale and 1570 WQTW Latrobe PA from the estate of Stanley Wall for $605,000. The stations will join with soon to be sister Classic Rock 103.1 WKVE in serving the southeastern Pittsburgh suburbs.
JMJ Radio purchases 91.7 WCOZ New Albany PA from Telikoja Educational Broadcasting for $45,000. JMJ operates Catholic 750 WQOR Olyphant/98.9 W255BO Scranton and 1490 WAZL Hazleton PA.
Timothy Walker transfers his 50% stake in III & W Broadcasting’s Classic Rock 101.7 KZZM and Country “Lonestar 102.5” KHLB Mason TX to partner Charles Jordan III as part of a settlement over allegations that Walker embezzled money from the company.
