A sibling battle over the Estate of Janice Ingstad has reached a settlement with the broadcast assets being split two ways.
Tanya ‘Tami’ Ingstad Knudson will receive the company’s South Dakota properties held under the name James River Broadcasting. Those stations include cluster in two markets. In Mobridge: Hot AC “Star 99” 99.5 KOLY-FM Mobridge, Country 100.7 KMLO Lowry/Mobridge, and Full Service AC 1300 KOLY Mobridge. In Pierre: CHR “River 92.7” KGFX-FM Pierre, Country 94.5 KPLO Reliance, Classic Hits “100.1 The Eagle” KJBI Fort Pierre, and Classic Country 1060 KGFX/107.1 K296FI Pierre. Knudson will also receive Midwest Information Systems.
Todd Ingstad, Robert J. Ingstad, and Tallie Colville will each take 33% ownership stakes in the North Dakota assets held under Sioux Valley Broadcasting and Two Rivers Broadcasting. Those stations are Country “Big Dog 95.5” KYNU Jamestown, Classic Hits “98.3 Ted-FM” KXGT Carrington, CHR “Q101” 101.1 KQDJ-FM Valley City, Sports “ESPN Jamestown” 1400 KQDJ/97.1 K246AM Jamestown, and Country trimulcast “Dakota Country” 1220 KDDR Oakes/1490 KOVC Valley City/1600 KDAK Carrington. They will also LMA Rock “103.1 The Raven” KRVX Wimbledon and KXGT rebroadcaster 102.7 K274BH Valley City from Tanya’s group. The three siblings in this group own four stations in Lisbon ND and Breckenridge MN under the name I3G Radio. Rob Ingstad also owns four stations in Fairbanks AK and two in Aberdeen SD, while holding 50% of Basin Mediactive’s six stations in Klamath Falls OR.
The Kansas holdings of the estate will be put up for sale with up to $533,000 of the proceeds will be used to pay for administration of the estate. KBUF Partnership and Western Kansas Wireless owns eight stations: News/Talk 1030 KBUF Holcomb, AC “Mix 94.5” KSKL Scott City, Country “Q97” 97.3 KKJQ Garden City, CHR “Z98” 98.1 KSKZ Copeland, Sports “ESPN Garden City” 99.9 KWKR Leoti, Regional Mexican “Ke Buena 105.9” KSSA Ingalls, and Classic Hits 106.7 KULY-FM/1420 KULY Ulysses.
Withers Broadcasting purchases Classic Rock 106.9 WDML Woodlawn/Mt. Vernon IL from Volunteer Broadcasting of Illinois for $50,000. It will join a cluster in Mount Vernon that includes Country 94.1 WMIX-FM Mount Vernon, Hot AC “X95.3” WRXX Centralia, AC “V104.7” WNSV Nashville, News/Talk 940 WMIX Mount Vernon, and Oldies 1210 WILY/98.7 W254BE Centralia.
Multicultural Broadcasting sells Brokered “Rainbow 1420” WATB Decatur/Atlanta GA to Amarillo TX based JDJ Communications for $360,000.
Deborah & James Boyd’s Hope Broadcasting will acquire Christian “Hope 93.3” 1530 WTTI and 93.3 W227DG Dalton GA from Troy Hall for $10.
Usher Broadcasting sells Classic Hits 1080 KYMO and 105.3 KYMO-FM East Prairie/Sikeston MO to Delta Broadcasting for $93,000 as part of court order as the highest bid for the assets from the estate of Barney Webster.
Church Planters of America sells “Old Paths Radio” 88.1 WWFJ East Fayetteville NC to Clyde Eborn’s Grace Baptist Church for $55,800. The station will join the buyer’s “FBN Radio” network based at 90.7 WOTJ Morehead City NC.
