Entercom Alternative “Alt 92.3” WNYL New York has added a few more staffers.
Bryce Segall has been appointed Music Director and Night Host starting Monday, July 2. Segall previously served as Assistant Program Director and on-air host at Entercom’s “107.7 The End” KNDD Seattle from 2010 to 2013 under current WNYL Program Director Mike Kaplan. Since then he has worked as a freelance music writer and promoter as well as Label Manager for Mad Zoo.
Dan Stone joins the station as Imaging Director starting June 25. Stone has served as Creative Services Director for Merlin Media and Cumulus Media Chicago since March 2012 overseeing Alternative 101.1 WKQX and now defunct Classic Rock “97.9 The Loop” WLUP. He previously held similar positions for Clear Channel Orlando from 1996-2011 and “DC 101” WWDC Washington DC from 2011-2012. Stone also serves as imaging voice for a number of Alternative stations across the country.
Their appointments follow the addition of Christine Malovetz for middays last month and Lara ‘Lars’ Dua and Abel Sanchez for weekends.
Entercom, the #1 creator of live, original, local audio content in the United States, announced the appointment of Bryce Segall as music director and evening talent for ALT 92.3 (WNYL-FM) in New York, effective July 2. In addition, Dan Stone will join ALT 92.3 as imaging director, effective June 25.
“Bryce has continuously displayed the ability to be innovative in the programming end of our industry and we’re excited to add his talents to ALT 92.3,” said Susan Larkin, Regional President and Market Manager, Entercom New York. “Dan’s previous imaging and voiceover experience will pay great dividends as he joins ALT in the same capacity.”
“New York City is an iconic pillar of alternative culture and it’s long deserved a radio station that not only pays tribute, but adds to that legacy”, said Segall. “I’m looking forward to working with the ALT 92.3 team to develop an outlet that truly adds value to the thriving, pre-existing music community.”
Prior to joining Entercom, Segall was a label manager for Mad Zoo, a boutique electronic record label. Previously, he was at ALT 92.3 sister station KNDD 107.7 The End (KNDD-FM) in Seattle, where he was an on-air personality and Assistant Program Director.
“Helping to build an ALT radio brand for New York City is a dream come true”, said Stone. “This station’s passion for this format is unequalled and I can’t wait to wake up and be a part of that everyday.”
Stone joins Entercom from Cumulus in Chicago, where he was an imaging contributor and consultant.
