Entercom has appointed Mike Kaplan as Senior VP of Programming and Program Director for Alternative “Alt 92.3” WBMP New York.
Kaplan most recently served as Program Director for iHeartMedia’s “Alt 98.7” KYSR Los Angeles from 2013-2017. He spent eleven years with Entercom programming Alternative “96.5 The Buzz” KRBZ Kansas City and “107.7 The End” KNDD Seattle and CHR “B97” WEZB and Classic Rock “Bayou 95.7” WKBU New Orleans. He began his career in New Jersey working on-air in Atlantic City and Trenton and programming Nassau Broadcasting’s Monmouth/Ocean cluster.
Malovetz joins WBMP from sister CHR “Now 96.3” KNOU St. Louis where she was Assistant Program Director and midday host. She spent the majority of her career in the Alternative format using the air name ‘Electra’ at “Y100” WPLY Philadelphia, “Q101” WKQX Chicago, and “99.9 The Buzz” WBTZ Plattsburgh NY.
ntercom, the #1 creator of live, original, local audio content in the United States, today announced Mike Kaplan as Senior Vice President, Programming and Program Director of ALT 92.3 (WBMP-FM) in New York, effective immediately. In addition, Christine Malovetz will join ALT 92.3 as midday host and will be on-air from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST weekdays, starting today.

Kaplan joins Entercom from IHeartMedia, where he was Program Director for ALT 98.7 (KYSR-FM) in Los Angeles. Prior to programming in Los Angeles, Kaplan was Program Director for Entercom’s alternative station 107.7 The End (KNDD-FM) in Seattle and 96.5 The Buzz (KRBZ-FM) in Kansas City.
Christine Malovetz was most recently host of middays and Assistant Program Director for KNOU-FM in St. Louis. Prior to KNOU-FM, she was at Q101 in Chicago, Y100 in Philadelphia, and 99.9 The Buzz in Burlington, VT, where she was known as ‘Electra.’
